It doesn't matter if you're planning on staying in Cajun Country 1 day or 5 days, if you are here on the weekend, you've lucked out.  SMILE!

We've got two Saturday Day Trips you can pick from below and one Sunday Day Trip.  Whether you decide to head East (Breaux Bridge) or West (Mamou & Eunice) from the Mansion, your day will be filled with as much of the Cajun Culture and Fun that you can stand.   I promise you'll have smiles on your faces!

The itineraries listed below are listed in order of when each establishment is opened and when the music begins.  So all you have to do is show up!

You'll leave the Mansion with a card and when presented to each and every place listed on the trip, you'll get some type of LAGNIAPPE (extra) or a discount.

Day Trip 1 - Breaux Bridge & Lafayette

  • Freds in Mamou - On the surface, Fred's place looks like any ordinary red brick beer joint. But promptly at 9:15 on Saturday mornings when announcer Mark Lane steps to the microphone on the makeshift stage roped out of the center of the dance floor, Fred's Lounge becomes the most beautiful place in the world

  • Cajun Music Hall of Fame & Museum - See Artifacts & memorabilia which are all related to Cajun music and culture.   The Cajun French Music Association non-profit organization comprised of Cajuns and non-Cajuns whose purpose is to promote and preserve, not only Cajun music, but also various aspects of the Acadian Heritage.
