RE: Novel Coronavirus – COVID-19

3-24-2020 – In light of the recent cases of Coronavirus, we have been taking extra precaution here at the Louisiana Cajun Mansion. To bring awareness, we are sharing our cleanliness guidelines and daily sterilization practices.

 

Here are our everyday disinfecting practices and what we have done to step things up due to Covid-19.

 

Disinfecting Reception and Common Areas –

Keeping the reception area spotless and cleaned daily is part of our normal daily routine. All surfaces are sanitized daily and floors are steamed every other day. Although we vacuum on a regular basis, we feel steaming the floors is a must.

 

Additional practices during flu season –  

Large Hand Sanitizer pumps are included in different areas of the bed and breakfast. Clorox wipes are used for doorknobs, electric outlets, bathroom fixtures and remote controls after they have already been wiped with a disinfectant. Floors are steamed daily.

 

Disinfecting Guest Rooms and Bathrooms –

We take pride in how we disinfect every bedroom suite and its bathroom and go over and beyond as our normal daily practices. All surfaces are disinfected daily and the floors are also steamed clean. Frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs, electric outlets, bathroom fixtures and remote controls are disinfected daily.

 

Bedroom Suite Bathrooms are mopped, and the floors are steamed clean. The toilet bowl, rim and hinges are scrubbed and wiped down with a hospital grade disinfectant. The shower walls, soap dishes and shower seat are wiped down with a disinfectant tile cleaner. Clorox and water are sprayed on the shower floor. The bathroom floor mats and trash bin liners are replaced daily.

Individual Hand Sanitizer wipes are included in the bedroom suites.  Clorox wipes are used for doorknobs, electric outlets, and remote controls after they have already been wiped with a disinfectant.

 

Disinfecting the Kitchen –

We practice daily maintenance regimens to maintain a spotless area. With the use of hospital grade disinfectants and professional multipurpose cleansers we use mops, paper towels and nonabrasive scrubbing pads. These are sanitized daily. Food preparation areas are sterilized daily and so are the utensils.

Disinfecting the Breakfast Area

We use the same practices described above (Kitchen) for cleaning the breakfast area.

 

All syrup containers, sugar containers, wicker chargers and other things on the tables are wiped down daily also. Fresh linens are placed on the tables daily. Floors are mopped daily and steamed every other day.
