In addition to that, there are also some attractions that are best to visit during the fall-winter season. Each one of these winter attractions and events gives you a great chance to feed your traveler soul. As the winter days grow shorter and the atmosphere gets crisper, there are tons of activities that become available to make special memories.
Here are some of the best fall-winter attractions near Lafayette, Louisiana that will help you have the most fun during the chilly season.
Louisiana Tailgating Season
Tailgating, a common occurrence during Football season, is a wonderful and exciting fall and winter event. Many Louisiana locals will tell you that the parking lot is where the real action happens! Tailgating at a UL or LSU game is full of incredible food, music, interesting people, and exciting activities. From the New Orleans Saints to the LSU Tigers, Louisiana fully supports our favorite teams, and like just about everything else, we turn that shared focus into a party! During tailgating celebrations, you’ll smell amazing cuisine wafting throughout the parking lot as row upon row of RVs, camper trailers, and even pop-up tents fill the stadium grounds.
So, if you are walking around a Louisiana tailgater, you don’t need to get an invitation to join the party. Perhaps you will make new friends and discover one of the best ways to get a feel (and taste!) of our culture.
Louisiana Steampunk Festival
Previously known as the Steampunk and Makers Fair, the Louisiana Steampunk Festival highlights the Steampunk theme to build a unique fantasy and historically themed event. The best part is that you can also be a part of the performance as the renewed focus on the popular Steampunk theme is designed with the purpose of creating an immersive performance space. To be fully entertained during your visit to this event, a variety of Victorian and Steampunk-inspired entertainment and music is there to amuse you!
The event is scheduled for November 4th, 2018 – November 5th, 2018. The event was named as one of the Top 20 Events in 2016, by the Southeast Tourism Society, in the Southeastern US.
Noel Acadien au Village
Noel Acadian au Village (around these parts we just call it Acadian Village) is not only a popular annual event but also the one that is intended to serve disabled persons. The fundraiser for this 23-night festival is given to LARC. It is a local non-profit setup that is dedicated to helping people with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Indeed, this is one of the most unique events in the Lafayette region. Almost half a million lights are displayed along the fully lit chapel and decorated Acadian porches. Some of the other activities include nightly live entertainment, photos with Santa, animated holiday displays and carnival rides. There are many visitors who love to shop around to buy Christmas gifts while enjoying the delicious local cuisine at the festival.
However, the only way you can make the most of these attractions during the fall-winter season is when you have a comforting accommodation, full of amenities. To fully enjoy your trip to Louisiana, let Louisiana Cajun Mansion B&B take care of you!
